Herb farm OMB appeal rejected

The Ontario Municipal Board has upheld a Smith-Ennismore-Lakefield Township Council decision to refuse rezoning for a property at 833 Tindle Bay Rd.
Alypsis Inc. had requested the rezoning to allow it to grow and process medicinal herbs on the nine acre property.
Rob Lamarre, the township Manager of Building and Planning had originally recommended the rezoning be allowed, but council disagreed after a large delegation of neighbours opposed to the project attended a council meeting.
