More money for Med Centre

by Anita Locke

Jeremy Collett, a Lakefield LCBO staffer, decided he wanted to do something to help raise funds for the Lakefield Primary Health Care Centre campaign (LPHCC).

So, he used one of his few days off, set up a table outside the Lakefield LCBO, and received donations from customers.

By the end of the day, he had raised $492.43. An anonymous donor threw in some additional coins, bringing Jeremy’s total to $500.00.

He said, “It was the least I could do to help raise money for the medical center.”

Glenda Newson, LPHCC Volunteer Coordinator and committee member, said, “This was such a nice thing for Jeremy to do. He came up with the idea and did all the work. The campaign team certainly appreciates his efforts.”

There will also be cash donation boxes on the counters at the Lakefield LCBO throughout the month of July for those wishing to contribute to the fundraising campaign.

For more information, or to make a donation, call the campaign office at (705) 652-1915.
