GCH accepts tenders for almost $1 million

Galway-Cavendish and Harvey Township Council Tuesday accepted tenders totalling $988,289.16.

The tenders had been opened at council’s July 15 meeting, and were referred to Public Works Superintendent Gerard Pearson for a report.

Accepting Mr. Pearson’s recommendations, council approved:

• $118,085 to Jim Weir Custom Crushing for gravel crushing;

• $399,247.91 to Royal Paving for surface treatment of township roads;• $185,941.50 to Nortrax Canada Inc. for a John Deere loader;

• $219,721.72 to Western Star and Sterling for a tandem dump truck;

• $31,336.03 to Holiday Ford for a 4x4 pickup truck; and

• $33,957 to Richardson and Smith Roofing for sand dome repair and reshingling.
