Transport chairs donated to local medical centres

The Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation (GPHSF), in partnership with the Peterborough Family Health Teams, has donated 20 transport chairs to health team sites across the city and county of Peterborough.

The chairs will provide greater patient accessibility.

Hannah Routly, Executive Director, GPHSF, said, “We are very pleased to be able to support patient accessibility with the donation of these transport chairs.”

The objective is to provide services in local health care that directly benefit the community.

“By donating the transport chairs at health care sites,” she continues, “we are providing patients with a huge convenience when they are visiting their health care providers.”

Twenty chairs, with a total value of over $10,000, were presented last week at the following sites: The Medical Centre, The Peterborough Clinic, The Turnbull Medical Building, Brookdale Clinic, Burnham Clinic, 555 George Street, Scott Clinic, Times Square, Chemong Medical Centre (Bridgenorth), Morton Community Healthcare Centre (Lakefield), Millbrook Health Centre, Apsley Medical Centre, Norwood Medical Centre, Curve Lake Medical Centre and Buckhorn Regional Health Centre.

Bill Casey, Executive Director of Primary Health Care Services, says, “The GPHSF has kindly provided the chairs to further support our efforts in providing excellence in patient care. All patients visiting the Family Health Team clinics will benefit from the accessibility this provides, allowing patients greater convenience and ease when visiting their health care providers and specialists.”

The GPHSF supports health services in our community. Its mission is to fund capital equipment, research, education projects and community-based capital projects.
