Novice B are ‘A’ Champs!
The Simply Fit Novice B were the ‘A’ Division Champs at the Percy Bulldogs Tournament in Warkworth on Saturday, January 30 (Hockey Day in Canada)!
Goalie Hayden Melburn was outstanding in net only letting in three goals all day and recording a shut out in game one.
In the first game Lakefield faced Newcastle and won by a score of 7-0.
In game two Lakefield was down 2-0 against Quinte West but fought back to win 3-2.
In the final, Lakefield faced Stirling and won by a score of 6-1 to become the only undefeated team of the day and win the tournament!
The boys’ passing skills were superb and they all worked so well as a team!
Alex Pineo scored seven goals and three assists, Taylor Hoggarth had two goals and one assist, and Ethan Daynes had two goals and two assists.
Garrett Vollering scored two goals. Single goals scored by Adam Cartmel, Matthew Pearcy and Dakota Everett who also assisted on two goals; Ben Fleguel, Grant Lee, James Wooten and Matthew Thompson each had one assist. Congratulations boys!
