PRHC Emerge Collection public viewing planned for Artspace
The public will have a four-day opportunity to preview the Emerge photography collection at Artspace prior to its permanent installation in the Dembroski Emergency Department of the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC).
On Thursday, February 25 and Friday, February 26 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturday, February 27 and Sunday, February 28 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., a public viewing of the Emerge photography collection will be held at Artspace (378 Aylmer Street N., Peterborough).
Admission is free and archival prints and a catalogue will be available for purchase. Proceeds will go to the PRHC Foundation to support future phases of the Emerge project and art in the hospital.
An innovative public art installation, Emerge is a permanent collection of more than 90 photographs. It has been made possible through the kind donation of images by amateur and professional photographers from the region, and through the generous financial support of George and Kathy Dembroski, the PRHC Emergency Physicians and the Peterborough Foundation.
The volunteer Art Steering Committee created the project with several goals in mind, in addition to enriching the healing environment for patients and their families.
The chosen images represent the contributions of over 40 professional and amateur photographers from the region, including Caroline Archambault, David Basterfield, Katie Brown, Lise Brown, Carolyn Cameron, Terry Carpenter, Lynn Cassels-Caldwell, Jamie Cole, B.
