IDA PeeWees take league title

Nick’s IDA Lakefield Chief PeeWees had a great season with 27 wins, two losses and two ties.

Lakefield beat the Otonabee Wolves to win the Leo League Championship.

It was a great series. The Wolves fought hard and challenged Lakefield all the way to the last few minutes of the Championship game.

Stewy said to the coach on the bench, “They’re not going to take this in my rink,” as he worked with his line mates Braedan and Austin scoring three goals, Braedan, Austin, Cindy and Justin with assists.

Austin capped off the event scoring in the last 30 seconds putting the icing on the cake.

The team stood strong with confidence and ability. Reid, Danny and Caleb forced the play in both ends wearing down Otonabee.

Logan, Lyle and Andy locked on to their opponents forcing the play to the outside and kept the puck moving toward the Otonabee end of the rink.

Great read and react defense from Cindy, Justin, Eric and Alyssa disabled the Wolves in our end and initiated the Chiefs breakout.

Without a doubt great goaltending from Jake anchored the team giving them the confidence to push the envelope and bring home the championship.

Great Job Lakefield Nick’s IDA PeeWee Leo Chiefs!
