Lakefield author, performer in Patsy Cline show

by Anita Locke

“The Last Concert of Patsy Cline” will be performed at Showplace Peterborough on Friday, September 24 by Lakefield’s very own Victoria Pearce.

The show tells the story of Patsy’s final concert on March 3, 1963 in Kansas City and her tragic death two days later.

Victoria has been singing Patsy Cline songs for as long as she can remember.

The performance includes many of Patsy’s greatest hits including Sweet Dreams, Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, So Wrong, Back in Baby’s Arms, She’s Got You, Faded Love, Why Can’t He Be You, Leavin’ On Your Mind and many others.

A concert within a play, the performance combines a live tribute performance with storytelling by Patsy’s best friend, singer Loretta Lynn.

The show features Victoria Pearce as Patsy Cline, and Gail Rowat as Loretta Lynn. Musical support is provided by Danny Bronson and his band.

The show was written by David Goyette of Lakefield, and is produced and directed by Tim Rowat. It is sponsored by Daryl Bennett and The Liftlock Group.

Victoria performed at the Lakefield Sidewalk Sale on August 14. She will also be performing for the residents and staff at Extendicare Lakefield on September 10, and heads to New York for a show on September 18.

Tickets are $32. The Showplace box office can be reached at (705) 742-SHOW (7469) or toll free at 1-866-444-2154 .
