Midget AE 3-0 in playoff
The Lakefield Chiefs Midget AE team (sponsored by Morris Chemicals and Lakefield Foodland) continued their round robin playoff series with a game in Norwood this past Saturday night against the Hornets.
The Chiefs opened the scoring early in the first with an unassisted goal from Nick Hahn.
The Chiefs played short-handed for most of the second period however, an unassisted goal from Cody Lech gave them a 2-0 lead.
Lakefield continued to take penalties in the third but still dominated the play, until Andrew Swankie (assisted by Alex Mucci) scored at the end of the third to give the Chiefs a 3-0 win.
Mack Featherstone was sharp in net to preserve the shutout, and to give Lakefield a 3-0 record so far in the playoffs.
The Chiefs play their next round-robin game against the Sturgeon Thunder at home this coming Saturday night.
