Buckhorn Fine Art Festival makes FEO’s top 100

The Buckhorn Fine Art Festival is proud to announce that Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO) has selected it as a Top 100 festival for a fifth year in a row.

Chosen from over 3,000 celebrations held annually, the FEO Top 100 represents some of the most well-known and respected festivals in the province.

Buckhorn Fine Art Festival also won for Best Official Printed Program in the $100,000 or less category at the 2012 Festivals & Events Achievement Awards.

“The Buckhorn community works tirelessly to organize this premium art festival and we’re extremely pleased to receive recognition from Festival & Events Ontario once again,” Sally Yardley, Director of the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival, says proudly.

“It highlights just what a small community can accomplish when an enthusiastic group of volunteers bands together.”

It takes a year of planning and dedication by the creative community of Buckhorn to organize this award winning festival that all comes down to one fabulous weekend in August.

For three days, a diverse group of over 70 premiere North American artists are invited to display their vibrant works in the beautiful Buckhorn Community Centre and its 11 permanent galleries nestled in the woods.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival and a number of celebrations and special events will be taking place throughout the weekend.

The highlight will be a commemorative exhibit showcasing 35 original works by festival alumni. Selected from submissions, these important artists are being honoured for the unique mark they’ve made in the world of art as well as to the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival over the years.

The Buckhorn Fine Art Festival and all its wonderful volunteers and artists would just like to say, “Meet me in Buckhorn!”
