LYU thanks German volunteer Maximillian Pfeiffer
About four thousand miles – that’s how far Lakefield Youth Unlimited’s newest volunteer staff member travelled to join our team.
Maximillian Pfeiffer, known by LYU staff and others in the Village as “Max”, arrived from Germany in August, 2012 to serve as a full-time LYU volunteer for a year.
After six months it is hard for us to imagine not having him around. He has been an incredible asset to LYU, getting involved in many areas of our ministry to youth in the Village.
In Germany he works as a graphic designer and his skills in this area have been very helpful to us at LYU. Max has also been working in some of the Lakefield schools (LDSS and Ridpath) multiple times a week to be a support to staff and students, as well as helping with the weekly Gym Night and After School Programs.
Over the March break, LYU will be holding our first ever March Break Art Camp for youth ages 10-13.
The three-day camp will include various artistic activities such as painting, sculpting, drawing and dancing.
Max will also be leading a session on photography with the youth at the Art Camp. All of the staff at LYU would like to thank Max for the important role he has played on our team.
