36th Annual Kawartha Carving Competition in Bobcaygeon Sept. 14
The 36th annual Kawartha Carving Competition is planned for Saturday, September 14 at the Bobcaygeon Curling Club.
Hosted by the Carving Clubs of Lindsay, Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn, the Competition attracts upwards of 100 competitors from across Southern Ontario, some as far away as North Bay, London, Belleville and Haliburton, said Committee Chairman Doug Hodgins.
He added the event will likely attract some 200 carvings, ranging from Novice class to Open class. Categories include decorative waterfowl, fish, animals, relief carvings, chip carving, caricatures and wood burning.
Doors open at the Bobcaygeon Curling Club on Mansfield Street in Bobcaygeon at 8:00 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m. Entry fee is $3 per person. Children under 12 are free.
