Two die in local incidents
The motorcyclist, who was killed on Thursday September 12, has been identified by Peterborough County OPP, as Barry Seabrook.
The 41-year-old resident of Selwyn Township was involved in a motor vehicle collision on County Road 23.
In the afternoon, between Curve Lake Road and Deer Bay Road, his motorcycle collided with a truck pulling a trailer. Investigators are still attempting to determine the cause of the crash.
Another fatality happened in the same week.
The body of a 62-year-old woman was found in the Otonabee River on Wednesday, September 11.
A boat from the Douro-Dummer Fire Department and teams from the Peterborough County OPP were on the scene after receiving a phone call from a passerby who spotted the body.
A cyclist was biking along the river near Lock 25, just south of Lakefield, around 11 a.m. when he noticed the body.
Peterborough County OPP pronounced her dead at the scene. She has been identified as Linda Richardson, by her husband, Jim Richardson.
The death does not appear to be suspicious; however investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
