Chiefs make it 12 in a row

The Lakefield Chiefs ran their win streak to 12 games Tuesday evening with a 6-3 win over the Uxbridge Bruins.

Derek Manley started things off at 3:56 of the first period, assisted by Jordan Walsh and Jesse Gregory.

Just 1:05 into the second Eric Oosting made it 2-0 with an assist from Nathan Larson, and Gregory followed up with a goal at 2:30 assisted by Walsh.

Uxbridge got on the board with a power play goal at 10:19, Korey Brand assisted by Carter Vahey and Tim Bierma, but Walsh restored the three goal lead at 19:12 assisted by Oosting and Ryan Saunders.

Uxbridge started the third period strongly with goals by Brand and Bierma at 4:34 and 8:24, with assists by Bierma, Marco Mastrangelo and Thomas Sheedy, but that was it.

Lakefield came back with two of their own at 11:18 and 13:43, Larson from Devin Gilbert and Saunders, and Travis Brault from Oosting and Saunders.

The Chiefs get another week’s break now, facing Little Britain in Lakefield Tuesday, Dec. 10.
