PLCPS will spend $50K to improve business practices

The Peterborough-Lakefield Police Service Board will spend $50,000 to look at improving business practices.

The Lean Six Sigma study will develop a redesign plan for business processes integrated with in-car information. The study will be led by Tamara McAllister, who spoke about the process at special board meeting last Wednesday (Dec. 4).

McAllister conducted a similar study with the Chatham-Kent Police Service two years ago and was able to help reduce the force’s overtime costs up to 40 per cent; reduce front line officers’ administrative duty workload by nearly 10 per cent; and increase staff productivity by nearly 20 per cent.
