Community Care Lakefield offers Soup-a-licious Jan. 20

by Ben Clarke

A successful fundraiser is returning to Lakefied, as Community Care Peterborough has announced it will hold its annual Soup-a-licious fundraiser again this year.

The fundraiser, scheduled for Monday (Jan. 20) from 2-4 p.m. at Cassis Bistro, is a partnership celebrating the fine cuisine of a local business, and the home support services of Community Care.

Community Care is a non-profit business offering home support services for seniors and adults with physical challenges to allow them to live independently in the community.

The fundraiser is now in its fourth year and over 300 soups have been sold to date.

“It’s great food, convenient, a good portion size that can be frozen; and helps Community Care continue to offer its vital services,” says Community Care development coordinator Lorri Rork.

“We’re currently serving over 600 people in Lakefield, Young’s Point, Burleigh Falls, Warsaw, Douro, Donwood and Woodview.”

Community Care currently has enough volunteers for the fundraiser but is always looking for an extra set of hands.

For more information on Soup-a-licious or to volunteer, contact Lorri Rork at 705-652-8655.
