Welcome back Love in Lakefield

by Ben Clarke

With Valentines Day right around the corner, shoppers will have an opportunity to take advantages of shopping deals in downtown Lakefield.

Love in Lakefield will be returning again this year, as sales will begin Saturday (Feb. 8) and run through until Feb. 13.

Stores will be offering discounts and special offers as a way of recognizing the support the downtown community has received.

“We have a couple of changes this year,” says Stuff owner Gill Exton of the event that is now in its third year.

“In the past we did passports and customers would go around to each of the shops and get a stamp. This year we are going to have a flyer so customers can see the deals.

In total there will be 12 businesses involved including Brittany and Bros, Sunblockers, Celtic Connection, Mill Bank Trading, Cassis Bistro, Let’s Get Digital, Stuff, Trinkets and Treasurers, Salon Sorella and Village Pet Food and Supply.

“It’s a quiet time of year so it encourages people to shop local,” says Exton.

“Lakefield is a lovely town to visit. You can wander the shops get a bite to eat and find something unique for someone you care about.”

Each time a customer redeems a coupon at one of the shops, their name will be entered into a draw for a gift basket totaling $250.
