Chiefs need one more win

by Robert Campbell

The Lakefield Fitzsimmons Towing and Repair Chiefs had to wait until Wednesday at home to see if they would repeat as COJHL Champions after losing to the Uxbridge Bruins 3-2 in Uxbridge Monday night.

The Chiefs could not muster much offence and the Bruins capitalized on their power play opportunities scoring two of their three goals with the man advantage.

Scoring for the Chiefs was Jordan Walsh from Jessie Gregory and Derek Manley making it 1-1 in the first, then Uxbridge struck twice in the second period taking a 3-1 lead into the third.

Lakefield’s Captain Nathan Larson pulled the Chiefs within one scoring in the third from Travis Brault and that was all the offence either team could create with Uxbridge winning their first game of the series.

Zac Wainman took his first loss of the playoffs in net.
