Special speaker featured for Shining Waters Eco-Village

Today, many people are looking for ways to live responsively in a world which has changed dramatically over the last 50 years.

Home life has changed, resources are limited, environmental concerns are on the rise and many people feel overextended.

Finding ways to begin to live in a more hopeful way is what has motivated the people who have formed the group called Shining Waters Eco-Village right here in Peterborough.

Their mission is to create an inspiring, intentional community rooted in elements of sustainable living and design.

They issue the invitation to others of like mind and also to those who are curious about the eco-village idea to join them on Thursday, May 15, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Camp Kawartha Environment Centre, 2505 Pioneer Road.

There they will learn more about the group, hear about intentional communities and what co-housing means through a special guest speaker, Scott Donovan.

Scott is an architect with Krauss-Fitch in Amherst, Massachusetts, a firm whose specialty is co-housing. He will show a slideshow and share his experiences on community housing, design and process.
