Lakefield Farmerís Market Opening Day is May 22

Itís finally here! Good weather and the opening of the Lakefield Farmerís Market on May 22.

A new time for a new season as the vendors are ready to serve you from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market is happy to see 20 returning vendors and extend a warm welcome to 10 new ones.

It is the time for garden planning and the market will serve your needs for transplants. In stock will be flower annuals and perennials and vegetable plantings to get you started.

Look for fresh rhubarb and early cut flowers. Jams and preserves will be found to savour last seasonís crop and dream of the fresh produce to come.

The long term forecast looks like BBQ weather and our vendors have beef, chicken, lamb and pork. Pick up something for supper or put in your order for the following week.

Our artisans bring a range of items that are locally crafted and made with materials from the area where possible.

You will find hand sewn, crocheted, rug hooked and jewellery products perfect for gift giving or to update your own needs. Soaps and herbal products are available for a little self pampering and wellness of being.

A busy time shopping brings on a hunger and the market has you covered. Indian and Texas cuisine, pizza, fresh popped kettle corn and a host of baked goods, cheeses, fudge and honey will satisfy any palette.

So, gather your insulated shopping bags and grab a cooler from the garage and head to the market for opening day May 22.

Our vendors accept cash and some will also accept Kawartha Loons. Remember July 3 is our Fifth Anniversary celebration and also a time to celebrate Canada. For more information contact,
