This is it! The end of June is staring us in the face. Itís time for the summer fun to begin! If you havenít already done so, itís time to sign your child up for the 2014 TD Summer Reading Club at any Selwyn Public Library branch! The program, which consists of stories, games and crazy maker crafts, will take place in Lakefield on Tuesdays, Bridgenorth on Wednesdays, and Ennismore on Thursdays . Ages 4-6 will take the 10:30-11:30 session while kids 7-9 will come between 1:30 and 3p.m. The program begins the week of July 1st and runs through the week of August 11. (All branches will be closed on Tuesday, July 2 to celebrate Canada Day)! Call your local branch to register!
In addition to this program we are also offering a Summer Family Time for ages 0-3 with songs, tickles and fun stories for you and your young family. This program will take place from 10:30-11 in Lakefield on Wednesday July 9, Bridgenorth on Thursday, July 24 and Ennismore on Tuesday, August 12.
A childrenís concert will take place in Bridgenorth on July 23 with award winning musician Jake Differ. (children ages 0-8).
Older kids (Ages 10-14) will enjoy our special summer workshops! Help us shake up Lakefield from 1-3 on Wednesday, July 9 with a session of Street Art!, with seed bombing, yarn bombing and sidewalk chalk art! Make the library staff shiver in horror as you chop up old books to create art at our Book Hack in Bridgenorth on Thursday, July 24. Help us use every last piece of library LEGO to make one massive structure in our LEGO Supersize Challenge in Ennismore on Tuesday, August 12.
Every Friday morning from July 11 to August 15 you are invited to join us in Bridgenorth to take part in our All Ages Maker Mornings! Each week weíll put out different material for children to use. Drop in from 10:30-11:30. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
To avoid disappointment, please remember to register your child for all programs (except the drop in All Ages Maker Mornings).
