23rd Annual Juniper Island Art Festival a resounding success
The 23rd Annual Juniper Island Art Festival on Stony Lake wrapped up another successful one of a kind show and sale this past Sunday afternoon. This year’s festival exhibited the original works of 43 artists using a variety of media including painting and drawing, sculpture, glass and photography.
We are very proud of our longstanding and unique commitment to show and sell original works by artists who have an affiliation with Stony and Clear Lakes.
Our dedicated group of volunteers planned, set up and juried the artwork, while The Association of Stony Lake Cottagers (ASLC) hosted the event.
The festival opened with a reception from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9 and continued on Sunday, August 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As in years past, admission was by donation at the door.
Bill Szego of BMO Nesbitt Burns and Bruce McCubbin of Moosehead Breweries are the major sponsors. Donations and artist fees help to fund many of the ASLC projects.
Access to the island is by watercraft only and a water taxi service was offered by McCracken’s Landing Harbour.
For further Festival information, please contact the curator of the show, Alison Rodriguez at 705-750-0576.
